The Ellett Family Papers were acquired by Special Collections in Biographical Information Robert Thaddeus Ellett served as an assistant surgeon in the Confederate States Army from to , at which time he was assigned to a hospital in Montgomery White Sulphur Springs, Virginia. Scope and Content Note. The collection consists of letters of Edwin D. Tuttle from , with most from Tuttle's letters to his family document his Civil War service in Virginia and points on the south Atlantic coast in South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.
